OFFERS FROM OXFORD, CAMBRIDGE, RUSSELL GROUPS AND ERNST &YOUNG: BOW SIXTH FORM STUDENTS ARE WORLD AND CAREER READY

Once again, we are proud to announce outstanding student achievements in this summer’s A Level and Vocational results.

The 2025 results have exceeded last year’s outcomes, with the number of students achieving 3A*-A doubling, the number of students achieving AAB+ increasing by 24 percentage points and 81% of students achieving 1 or more A*-B.

Students’ success, work ethic and determination was celebrated across a wide range of subjects and as they progress on to impressive apprenticeships, coveted careers and respected universities across the country to take up studies in specialist subjects, including University of Warwick, Queen Mary University of London, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University College London and apprenticeships offered by Ernst & Young.

Students have achieved excellent grades across across a number of subjects and the percentage of students achieving top grades remains impressive, alongside many individual stories of dedication and achievement.

  • The first Ancient History cohort saw 100% of grades achieved at A*-B
  • 100% of all grades achieved in English were A*-B
  • 100% of all grades attained in Art were A*-A
  • 88% of grades achieved in Psychology were A* - C
  • 80% of all grades achieved in Government and Politics were A* - B, with 40$ attaining A* and A grades
  • 79% of all grades achieved I Maths were A*- B
  • 76.5% of all grades achieved in Chemistry were A*-C and 57% of all grades achieved in Biology were A*-B, both increasing 32% in 2024; 77% of all grades in Physics were an A* - C and 46% A*- B, an increase of 33% and 21% respectively
  • 64% of all grades achieved in Computer Science were A*-B
  • 61% of all grades achieved in Economics were A*-A grades, with 100% attaining A* - C
  • An average grade of DDD (equivalent to x3 Grade A’s) were achieved in Applied Science and Business Studies.

Headteacher Danny Lye said, “Every year, our Sixth Form continues to flourish, as a result of our hardworking students and a commitment across the board to our student’s development. The Bow Sixth Form is bursting to the seams with targeted and engaging opportunities, personalised guidance and bespoke expertise, carefully designed to excite and inspire students and help them to realise and achieve their aspirations. I am so proud that they have all worked so hard over the two years and can confidently declare them World and Career Ready! We are delighted to share the results of exceptional individual performances from a selection of our aspirational students:

  • Yusuf achieved an incredible A*AA in Maths, Physics and Chemistry and will be reading Maths at the University of Oxford in September.
  • Deputy Young Mayor Rochelle celebrates AAA in English Literature, Politics and Ancient History, and looks forward to her next chapter at the University of Warwick to study Politics and International Studies.
  • Following the achievement of an impressive A*A*A in Maths, Economics and Politics, Minshad excitedly confirms his degree apprenticeship at Ernst & Young, with ambitions of practicing as a qualified accountant.
  • Kamran attained D*D*D in his Business BTEC, and has his future all mapped out: to study Business and Health at UCL in September, followed by undertaking a PGCE and becoming a teacher.
  • One of Bow’s highest achievers, Harry was elated to receive 3 A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and looks forward to his next chapter at the University of Cambridge, where he will read Medicine in September.
