Entry Requirements: A minimum of a grade 6 in five subjects at GCSE, including a 7-6 in Combined Science, or grade 6 in Separate Sciences.

Why study this course?

Physics is a subject that helps you understand how the world around us works, from forces and electricity to particles and space. It allows you to discover the reasons behind things that we may not always notice on a day-to-day basis. For those who may be curious, enjoy solving problems and like thinking deeply, will naturally find themselves choosing Physics.

What will I study?

Over the course of two years, you will explore the fundamental ideas and principles behind physics, while learning about the real-world applications they have. For example, some of the topics you will study in Year 1 include Electricity, Waves, Mechanics and Particles. In Year 2, you will build on the knowledge you have already gained and explore more complicated concepts, with examples including Fields and Thermal Physics.

What skills will I gain and where will this take me?

Throughout the course, you will develop a range of skills including problem-solving, analysing information, and carrying out practical investigations. You will also learn how to apply your knowledge of physics to real-world situations. These skills can be useful for further education and careers in areas such as engineering and technology.
